Eureka (or any mandated) Math and Technology
Eureka Math is good. Technology in the classroom is even better. Eureka Math and Technology combined is awesome! Below are ideas for integrating technology into the Eureka Math curriculum.
TEACH--PLAY--ASSESS
As I think about implementing technology with the use of Eureka Math, a couple of necessary accessories I find helpful to have on the desktop are the snipping tool, ActivInspire, Windows Media Player, and a laptop with a camera already installed on it for the purpose of including pictures in Classflow.
Other useful sites for the classroom as mentioned during the presentation are Accuradio and Tinyurl.
1. Create instructional videos using ActivInspire and Windows Movie Maker. While there are tons of movie-production software, the ones listed are totally FREE for a teacher like me :-). A sample of videos I have created for my students can be found here. Sometimes I like to include music with some of the videos I make. The files I use are from Purple Planet, a Royalty Free Music site.
2. Google Classroom: create classes, distribute assignments, send feedback, and see everything in one place; more instructions and tips on setting up Google Classroom can be found here.
4. Edulastic: Online assessment tools with technology-enhanced items like SBAC, AIR and PARCC give you a complete, instant view of student learning and growth; need more training on Edulastic? Click here.
5. Google Forms: Collect and organize information big & small; including surveys and assessments; click here for ideas.
7. Quizlet Live: collaborative classroom game; click here for a quick-start guide to using quizlet live.
8. Zearn: K-5 curriculum delivered in a personalized rotational model
9. Embarc Online: originally created to support local teachers using Eureka Math (heavily focused on elementary grade levels; site goes up to 8th grade)
10. Goformative: web-app for classrooms that allows teachers to give live assignments to students, allowing instant teaching adjustments
